Contents:
Tableau is one of the most important tools for performing data analysis and data visualization on the job. This hands-on seminar aims to ensure that our students graduate ready to meet the current employer`s demands. This seminar takes a deep dive into analysis and visualization of data with Tableau; it also includes some basic SQL concepts.
For the final project, students will use an own data set for exploration and apply the techniques covered throughout the course to create a compelling presentation to share their insights. Note that the large parts of the project development will be completed outside of class.
Andrea Pescher holds a bachelor degree in Business Engineering and a master degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Business Informatics. She worked in various analyst roles at several companies in different countries before joining Ergo Direkt AG. She started using Tableau in early 2016 as part of a Data Science Bootcamp while building up her data analytics skills in NYC.

The course is scheduled in accordance with the currently valid hygiene rules in presence.

  2. Friday, 25.11.2022, 15:00 – 20:20 (LG 0.421): Analytic techniques
  3. Saturday, 26.11.2022, 09:00 – 15:20 (LG 0.215): Advanced data preparation
  4. Saturday, 14.01.2023, 09:00 – 15:30 (LG 0.422): Final presentation
Prerequisites: This course targets students who are quantitatively oriented; participants should be interested in data analytics and data visualization.

This seminar is for students who have never used Tableau before, as well as for students who want to explore Tableau in more depth. No prior technical knowledge is required.

Please also install Tableau prior to class: http://www.tableau.com/. Educational licenses will be provided.
